c4d material: luminance channel, bitmaps

hi
I just realised that it's not possible to use bitmaps for the luminance channel
in c4d materials. No matter what I do, it's always the whole object that
emits light. Is that correct?
If so, is there a possibilty to add this feature in a future version of maxwell?
