Motion Blur Again

I cant get motion blur to work (and i followed the steps from the FAQ etc and downloaded the latest plugin). I'm a beginner with Cinema so i might have set something up wrong - although it seems ok to me.
Could someone take a minute to have a look at this scene as i havent heard from Tyrone yet and need to sort this out soon (the scene should take about 10 seconds to download - its a simple bouncing ball):

Thanks.

Well,
The first thing I notice is that you do not have motion blur enabled in the C4D render settings. You have to enable object or scene motion blur there as well. (I haven't figured out what the difference is between the two yet to be honest).
Also, you have 4 frames in the animation and the sphere does not move very much, I doubt that you would see a whole lot of motion blur out of that anyway.
Hope this helps.

dyarza: look here for the difference between the two.

Thanks for the reply.
Thats weird - here motion blur is enabled. Is this the setting at 'Maxwell Render Settings' > 'Engine' and tick there?
Also i slowed down the ball bouncing as i thought that it may be going too fast for the blur to occur - if thats possible.
This is my first ever animation so still figuring that out.

Ah, so Scene Motion Blur = Global Motion Blur? (In the C4D plugin that is...)
Thanks,

I've just swapped from 'preview' to 'RS1' and it seems to work - i didn't realise that made a difference!

Wow i like this motion blur. Very clever. I'll have these Solidworks consumer products flying on fast and pointless trajectories very soon.

....... does motion blur work with displacement?
The displacement doesnt show on the object when i tick the motion blur option.

Will: I'm pleased you got motion blur working. Displacement does not work with motion blur objects. However, Maxwells' motion blur is miles ahead of Cinemas render engines and works fairly good now the 1.6 Cinema plugin has been fixed.

Becco_UK,
So are you getting rotational MB with the new plug in? I downloaded the update for both Mac and PC and while I get nice straight blur, rotations are still not showing up.

dyarza: Yes, rotational blur is now working the same as it was with the 1.5 plugin on my PC system. Maxwell's motion has always struggled with high speed motion blur so about a 15 degree movement suffices to generate a still image for my requirements.
I assume you have keyframed the object being blurred?

Yes, I am getting blur, it is just not rotational. It looks straight. Maybe it is moving too fast? I know there is a limitation to two substeps if I remember correctly.
I'll try making the motion slower.
Thanks,

dyarza: Yes it's the limited substeps which I's why I only use small amounts of movement and even those have straight edges at the outermost parts. I hope that gets updated because accurate. high speed motion blur just isn't possible at the moment with Maxwell.

Ah, thanks for the clarification. I was hoping this update was going to fix it, now that I know I can do it other ways.
Cheers,
