can someone please provide some new infos as - I think - we all are looking forward to informations on the new plugin that was announced in the last newsletter?!

some more informations to release time, content and support of cinema versions would be very appreciated. Of course we'd also like to hear about bugfixing and new features that work with cinema now. (Like displacement, or an automatic exif-content with render times, shutter speed .... on render pictures. ...)

Hey guys,

I know you are awaiting the plug-in update.... it will be released together with the "general" update of Maxwell Render (which includes displacement and several other new features). As you know, I cannot confirm release dates or schedules, but we are in the final testing stages, meaning we are very close to release now. I can also let you know that we have a great testing team right now with lots of C4D users testing the plug-in, and they are very enthusiastic about the update. We are confident it will be a strong release and a great upate for C4D users. Oh, and of course the C4D plug-in will be compatible with the new features including displacement.

Thanks,

Nicole

thanks for the reply nicole, but I wan't to remind you that comments like these have been posted from NL since the C4D plug was announced, nearly 3 years ago. Since then the C4D plug was either not there, or buggy...

have a nice day!

I'm looking forward to using Maxwells' displacement via the new Cinema plugin. However, I hope the 'new' plugin will be properly tested and not released with serious flaws as has been the case on past occasions.

Does Maxwells' displacement work with motion blur?

Hi,

We have made changes in our ways of testing with a new "intermediary" team of testers actively testing and reporting. So the plug-in is definitely being tested properly and we are taking our time to eliminate flaws and bugs. Some testers have received this update of the C4D plug-in as one of the best improvements in a long time.
To answer your question Becco_UK, motion blur and displacement will not work together in this first version of Maxwell Displacement.

We look forward to the release.

Thanks,

Nicole

certainly looks promising...I'm not sure as to what will or will not work regarding materials yet but the ability to import MW mats is a definite plus!!!!

Also, no idea how to get displacement working. In the doc it says use C4D displacement but I tried that and nothing happened...

Too early to say...have a play and then there'll be more questions...:-)

Many thanks NL

c4d material is rather weak.
