Ok , I have looked at Tyrone's tutorial. I don't need the HDRI. I just need a simple background image to render with the model from the C4D plugin to Maxwell. HOW????? Please tell me. I've tried multiple things , but the image just doeas not show up in the render.

Hi!
Here's a quick sketch of how I would solve it.
Make a polysurface outside the windows that covers your viewangle and the same proportions as our outside view.
Load your image in maxwellrender and save it as an mxi or hdr.
Make an emitter material and link it to that file and apply it to the polysurface.
Render with multilight and you will be able to adjust the view's light.
Good luck

ps. you can also look at my compositing tutorial to see an alternative way of doing it.

Background hdri's or MXI's won't show at render time, if 'Alpha' tag is switched on in render options.

Airwaveflyer,
Your suggestion got 98% of the way there!! Thanks!
BUT... Now the geometry is causing black polygons in the render.
I have tried increasing AND decreasing the segments in the TUBE object. I have also made it editable, and it still occurs. (tho black shapes change).
Need that last 2% (Is this C4D or Maxwell related?)
I am doing all of this via the Plug-in. Have not tries MX Studio with the model.

If i was you i'd just write the mxs an open in Studio - you'll get much better results than that.

....I would go with Will's suggstion and open the mxs in studio to look where those polys come from. It is hard to tell but it looks as if its lying just outside the windows ...like a bounding box around your building..
I think that you should find a way of fixing the normals on the surface.
If I don't remember it wrong there is a possability to recalculate the normals for surfaces inside studio..

Thanks guys.
I will keep working on the model and try doing the background in Studio.

in cinema select all the polys of your background geometry and use "align normals"
if all turns black use the command again.
that should do the trick
