I installed the new plugin, but when I start C4D, I get the following error:
"MAXWELL_ROOT variable not found/set, aborting"
I'm using Windows XP with C4D 9.6.
What now?

Perhaps.... set the Maxwell Root Variable? (In the system properties of XP)

You need to set the MAXWELL_ROOT in your Enviroment Variables, under System Variables and there you create a New called MAXWELL_ROOT and give it the path C:\Program Files\Next Limit\Maxwell\
Try if that works, if not then i don't know..

lol... just in the same minute....
For me it's not "Program Files" but "programme"... it's gotta point to the folder, where your maxwell1.5 is installed.. of course...

Doh!
Yeah, so right after I posted, I remembered that I reformatted my hard drive last week, and since I was waiting for the new plugin, I hadn't bothered to reinstall Maxwell yet. Sorry for the false alarm.

So why not change the topic into s.th. more positive then?
Before us poor c4d users get frightened again...
