Scale question...

So I understand that you have to be aware of working in the right scale (cm and export .01) when moving a C4D file to Studio....but.....
However, I just started rendering DIRECTLY from the new plugin via C4D, when one does this, does your project still have to be in cm (in C4D) even though it's going stright to to the MXCL renderer and skipping being imported into Studio? (Hopes this makes sense)
Thanks
Norbert

use a mw render settings object (plugin menu) - there is a scale tab.

Ahh....so it sounds like I need to go through the same loops as if I was going through Studio right?
I usually work in inches in C4d and import the file into Studio, then scale the Whole scene x2.54 in Studio.
This brings my inches back into sync with the meters units in Studio.
Thanks,
Norbert

So... I just did a test.
I work in inches in C4d, and I set the scale setting via the plugin to multiply cinema units by .0254 on export,
I then save the scene to MXS.
I open this file via studio.
The geometry is scaled correctly using this method.
Is it correct to assume that any Maxwell tags applied via the C4d plugin, and that physical sky settings/sun, should also be correct in scale?? (when rendering directly from the plugin?)
Thanks,
Norbert

no no no! (no!)
in this tab you set the scale translation: for cm it's set to 0.01 - if you model in meters you must set it to 1 - for those silly inches, you got to calculate yourself
but you can also set it once and forever: plugins -> mw default options -> output tab -> mw scale. the plugin remembers it.

1 - you wre too fast for me.
2 - yes, it is.
edit: but the sun direction is not correct - if i'm correct. i think the scen is rotated 90 degrees. there is a little espresso available, that helps to syncronize c4d sun and mw sun.
