Another question about Maxwell sun.

How the f*** do you actually move it?
I think i´ve put in 12 completely different settings for the physical sky, even one that should be completely black, and regardless of what´i do, i get the same identical default setting with the sun just behind my objects.
Please, developers, moderators or users, explain to me again how this version have improved regarding workflow.
I´m normally a very patient man, but this is getting fucking ridiculous!

...14 times now, after having to restart because of an error message prompting me to "Enter filename to save".
Naturally the file was already named and saved several times over.
Very stable version guys. And so well working...
This version is going into the trashcan faster than the speed of light.

Hmmm. everything is working for me.
Manual changing of the sky parameters, linking the maxwell sky to cinema sky - everything...
Are you sure you are doing everything right?

I don´t use AR, so the sky-link is not an option.
I tried using the "settings object" and have so far failed miserably.
As long as i use Maxwells defult settings window and render out the active view without clicking on anything else, it looks like it´s actually rendering out properly.
Doesn´t explain the error that forced me to restart though.

personnaly i don't bother with the location, just move the earth around and look on the incidence angle of the sun in the view port (on the North-E-S-W thingy) and it works.. isn't the vewport showing you the basic luminosity of the sky? Do you have any pic to try and undestand the problem?
Hope it'll help!
[edit] oops, you seem to do this in C4D not studio.. i render from lightwave but do the sun adjustment in studio, then copy the settings back..

Thanks tokiop, but you must be referring either to AR or Studio, and i don´t use either of them.
Having a manually movable sun for Maxwell would be a huge step forward though. Excellent idea!

Rochr, I'll look into a tutorial for this one, but it will most likely take advantage of the cinema 4d sky.
Since the C4D Sky and Maxwell Sky work together with the plugin and via the xpresso that was created not too long ago.

Thanks Tyrone, but i´ve reinstalled an older version.
I´ll eventually get R10 and the render module, but without it, and i´m adding other issues here, i´m sad to say that so far this version is not much of an improvement from the previous. It´s actually even more unstable and the workflow is pretty much the same as before. It leaves a lot to wish for.
...the resolution matching between Cinema and Maxwell and speed seem to have been improved though, so it´s not all bad.

Really strange, i've seen everything work in versions 9.5, 9.6, 10.0. Sun controls and everything... Too bad you have that issues... Did you do a clean install of the latest plugin?

Yes. the same procedure as usual, delete the old , extract the new.
To be honest i´ve had nothing but crazy issues with the last two versions. I´ve managed to squeeze out a few renders but they were personal stuff and had their share of problems as well.
