error writing output file

using maxwell 1.1UB and cinema 9.6 on my intel mac and i get an odd error during rendering (in the console) where the temp output file isn't saved when the image is updated.

i set up a scene name, an output location and a file type (tiff in my case) in the cinemaxwell plug-in but when i render the image and mxcl opens during the render the console reports cannot save scenenamePNG. this is wrong for starters as i set it to render a tiff.

any thoughts? the only thing i can think to work around this is to write the mxs and render through studio.

cheers, simon w.

Just a wild guess, but do you set the extension to tiff or tif? If its tiff it might not be recognized by the software.

in the cinemaxwell plug-in there isn't actually anywhere to specify the name you wish your output file to be saved as - looking at it all you have is a place to specify a scene name, an output folder and a file type that you wish your output to be saved in (picked from a dropdown).

still having this problem with the latest version of the cinemaxwell plug-in. has anyone tried this with the UB version of maxwell and actually got the preliminary output image to save?

Just having the EXACT same problem, C4D 9.6 PPC, Maxwell 1.1. Why it is mentioning xxxxPNG is beyond me, supposed to be targa. Really don’t want to have to use Studio to get a file. Although I am going to wait until this render is cooked, then use the menu to (hopefully) save an output image...

Bueller....Bueller...anyone?...anyone?...

Tanks in advance.

clearly i'm not the only person having this exact problem so can we please get this error entered into the bug database so we can get it fixed?

makes using the cinemaxwell plug-in quite tedious when you enter all the correct data and still have to either halt the render in mxcl to append the right path or open the mxs file in studio to set the output path.
