So is this the plug-in update or will there be another one?

In another post Juan wrote s.th. like: 'testing the new plug-in, everything seems very fine, it is doing alright, looking forward to releasing it soon...'

Please, it's not word by word, it is just what I remember, but I guess it's getting close to what he said.

Now, is this plug we got today the plug which was tested and tested and would finally be released? The UniversalBinary version? No features or fixtures, besides the fact that it's UB now?
Or is there going to be a 'real' update which is still being tested...? I mean, can I still have hope, or was is goal of waiting-time reached with this UB-plug?

Maybe I understood the today's release wrong and I should not see this as a plug-in update but as a 'OS update' or something like this... ?!

Thanks.

P.S.: While posting this, I start to doubt, that this question is going to be answered. More likely it will become one of those endless complaint-posts, that have filled up the c4d-forum, if it's gonna find recognition at all...

Well, I certainly hope there will be another one.

I can't even get the plug-in to show un in the UB version of C4D 9.6, only under PPC.

As far as I can tell there is nothing new other than UB M~R, which is great by the way, don't get me wrong, much faster rendering, but it really does me very little good since I do not want to work in Studio, I use C4D.

Whewre is that new plug-in where everything tested was working great?

And please, put the camera selection back already.

Hi everyone,

The release of the Maxwell 1.1 OSX UB Edition is unrelated to the Cinema4D plug-in. A real C4D plug-in update will be released soon.

Thank you for your patience.

Hi nicole.
We get a "soon" message from NL every month for the last one and a half year. Is there someone that can share with us the progress of the Cinemaxwell plugin and a more precise timeframe?

If not to get into details, at least tell us what direction is the plugin going?
Bug fixes? Redisign? Addressing ALL issues?

Hi Noseman,

I'm afraid a "soon" message is all I can give you. We can't give a specific date because it's always possible an unforeseen issue/problem comes up. Obviously, we do not want to give false pretentions, so "soon" is the best we can do.

The C4D plug-in is going into this direction:
Bug fixes? : YES :D
Redesign?: YES :D
Addressing ALL issues?: YES :D

I hope this helps. Cheers!

Thanks for the swift response nicole.
One thing though, the new plugin that is compatible with UB version is not it's self UB compatible. It doesn't show up in the plugins. So it is useless for UB C4D users.
I don't have an intel mac, but I have both my C4D PPC and my C4D UB version in the same folder and the new cinemaxwell shows up only in the PPC version.

In case you didn't realise that UB C4D recognises ONLY UB plugins.

hope this gets solved!

It will be solved in the next plug-in version.

About the workflow, right now you can use first the Cinema 9.6 UB version to create your scene, save the file. Open it later with the Cinema 9.6 PPC version to use the maxwell plug-in, and send it to render from there, at least the mxcl will render at full speed in your machine.

Based on previous threads, i can understand why you can´t tell us anything about a release date and as long as we know you´re actually working on one solid C4D release, i think most of us are satisfied.

Just make sure it´s a well though out and well tested release this time. It will save both you and us users a lot of unecessary waste of time.

Hi, is is really nice to hear somebody from Next Limit team here, in C4D forum... I am looking forward a new plugin.

And what about compatibility with new C4D 10? I really would like to upgrade as soon as possible, but without Maxwell i can not "live=render" any more...
