Crazy Emitters takeover

Has anyone else had emitters show up on objects that dont even have an emitter tag on them. I checked everything. None of my objects are grouped under something with an emitter. I checked all the tags. When I go to do a ml render the list of emitters goes off the screen. I only have about 9 objects that have emitter tags on them. Even when I do a non ml render there are objects that show up emitting light. It is very bizzare and annoying.

Well I think I found what it was. I had some materials applied that I created that did not have the extension typed .mxm I went and added the mxm extension after I created the material. I went in and reapplied to all objects that had the forgotten extension and everything works. If I create a custom mxm through the editor why does it not just put the mxm extension after the name automatically?

Really I don't know why, but this procedure cut the workflow typing all extension, .mxi .mxm .jpg .tga .tiff, etc. it's supose to be a intelligent or friendly workflow.

I think it was cause by leaving it off, then adding the .mxi in windows explorer. When I went back in to adjut the tags of the materials that I manually added.mxi in windows explorer it was named default in the material editor. I guess the lesson would be always add.mxi when you save the material not afterwards in windows explorer if you forgot to do it when you saved it in the editor. This somehow caused major issues and all the materials that I did this to turned into emitters. Hope this makes sesnse.
