Let me select which camera please.

Tyrone,
Please let NL know that there was nothing wrong with having to select a camera in teh C4D plug-In.
The current method of rendering the active viewport is highly counterproductive. It goes beyond dealing with multiple cameras, even with just one, I have my perspective viewport set to my camera but I make small tweaks to camera possition in top view, and if I forget to click back on the perspective viewport before I hit "render" M~R tries to render my top view and fails.
If a camera selection option in the plug-in is not going to come back, could M~R at least render the viewport designatedas "Use as render view" in C4D?
Thanks,
D

I only can support this, it would make life a bit easier!

At least with a camera target it was reliable.
With the current system, sometimes it works, sometimes you get a clean sky render, even though you have an entire scene properly tagged and the proper viewport selected.

What were the crashes like? Were they related to the camera? I never had any issues on either XP or MAC running C4D 9.6 in both.

Stefan, you really haven´t had any errors with the new camera system?
I think half of the time it works, and the rest of the times it renders out a sky, even though i have the correct camera viewport maximized.
The only way i have been able to get pass this is by re-tagging/texturing the entire scene. It´s like the camera looses all the tags.

well not until now.
but i had regular crashes with the "old" in 9.6 when changing camera after rendering one image.
this problem is gone now.

Sounds like a different error.
With this one you don´t have to touch the camera or any of the viewports.
It still switches to "clear sky mode".
Guess it´s back to an old version again, and use AR for the highres stuff.
Business as usual.

strange, i work with it every day.
the only thing that drives me mad is that i now need 5x as long to texture my objects due to the new material tag system where i have to manually drag each! texture in the texture slot.
this is really crazy. but for the rest v11 seems so much better so i didnt go back to v1.0..
but i give you right, the c4d plugin isnt right yet, i hope miguel and juan will give us a better version soon.
cheers
