this is a repost, but id like to hear if other cinema 4d users have the same problem...

when i want to render somthing, if the textures are on my network drive, it takes very long to start rendering( directly from cinema 4d plug) the same scene in cinema starts rendering immediately.
if the scenes textures are copied to the machine rendering, than starts as it should
this is present with all versions of maxwell, and makes it vary painfull to use.
is it a bug?

also does maxwell use texture paths set in c4d preferences?
any tips are more than welcome, cos im going crazy

Kizo,

I have all my textures on a network drive and I do not have the problem that you are describing.

Are you using the custom .mxm tag? If so, the texture path will be in the .mxm file itself. If you have textures in the C4D materials and you are adding diffuse tags I guess that the path in C4D would be the one that gets used. Frankly since having the ability to use .mxm I haven't even tried to use a C4D texture.

finaly i found the problem,
since i can acess the network drive two ways
(as a network drive, and a shared folder) some of my materials had diferent texture paths, pointing to the same folder
once changed the paths, the render starts immediately
