I think there is a easy solution to your question.

Where you able to get the user manual that is available? The manner in which the view is selected for rendering has changed in regards to the camera and viewport editor.

You just have to select the viewport you want to render and keep that selected as current. This could be a camera with maxwell camera tag or just the standard viewport editor in perspective mode.
