I had a similar problem when trying to open a complex file - eventually found that it was texture related - C4D just hates it when something is missing or not where it should be...

I've tried attaching UVW textures to all the objects - not working...
Seems like some cinema-related trouble... I have v9.521...

No what I meant was that the texture paths were changed outside C4D -and one of the images became corrupt. I resolved the issue by opening the file - and immediately turning it into a plan view with wireframe (F2)and then hit save - so the opengl would not have to read the textures and it would then open in plan- then painstakingly sourced the evil texture - by selecting an object until C4D crashed.- once located - I selected all objects apart from the bad one and copy and pasted them into a new document - et voila. Alternatively you van select a texture you don't need in the Material manager place it next to the faulty one and keeping it selected - hold shift and select the faulty then delete - reason for this - if you directly select a faulty texture - BANG your dead... but if you already have one selected and the do it - C4D doesn't open it up in the material view.

IF of course this is your problem...mine had nothing to do at all with UV textures - it was texture file based.

PS Double check that your Texture paths in preferences are correct.
You may want to play with the hierarchy also.
Good luck

Hmmm... Where does maxwell need the textures to be placed, in relation to the scene?
Maybe it's the problem? I have my texture collextion in a separate place from the scenes...

The object that was crashing cinema on maxwell export is the ceiling with the light hidden in the hole...
Will try to find what exactly in this object is causing crash...

Well - I downloaded your test scene and have found something interesting.

It made my Cinema crash!!

BUT I found out why...

Texture tags on an emitter = BANG.

I did a simple test - new document - placed a cube - emitter tag and applied a C4D texture to it also - added a camera - went to maxwell for render - BANG. Deleted the C4D texture - went to maxwell - NO PROBLEM.

SO to make your scene work - please delete the C4D texture you have applied to the circular ring light - "Extrude NURBS"

Hope this helps

PS Please note I am on a Mac running the latest of both C4D and Maxwell- someone before said they managed to render your scene no problem - would be interesting to see what their set up is.

Yes, that is the problem! Deleted the texture tags from the light objects and the render started with the full scene!...
Thanks to everyone!
Your help is much appreciated!

Ok-ok! You surely will! After I create all appropriate MW materials and make some minor tweaks in the scene. I just gave up creating maxwell materials for this project when I was working on it, bacause it was not rendering, so I left it for my free time. now, after solving this problem with HUGE help of people in this forum :) :) , i'm going to finally complete it!
So, today i will make the mats, tweak the scenr and put it to render, say, for a day....
Then, as soon as it is ready it will be here!

Cheers!
