Cannot triangulate?

Can anyone help me with this?
Trying to render via the Lightwave plugin and I get this error even if the object is clean and already triangulated....

Too many headaches with this plugin. Nothing seems to be working.
I was forced to rebuild my objects so that they dont have layers or multiple surfaces but I still get errors......

Sad... very sad...

Well, I don't know if this will be of any help, but...

I was getting the same message. I had used the Text tool, and Maxwell didn't like the object. So, in modeler I tripled the (letter) objects and found a couple of spots that suddenly did look weird in the modeler open GL: a few poly's cutting across concave curves where they shouldn't be. :? After I fixed those few spots by hand (didn't take long), Maxwell stopped complaining and I've been sailing free with those objects ever since. So, even though you say your object's tripled and clean all I can suggest is seeing if you can spot any of these stray "concavity leaping" polies. With some luck you'll (quickly) find just a very few of those, where fixing them gets you back in business. To be honest, I'm surprised LW itself doesn't have problems with the likes of what I saw. Does LW's internal tripling work better than modeler's "Triple" function or something? Weird...

That's all I can suggest anyway from what I've come across so far; I hope you find your answer if the above isn't it.

Thanks Will

I noticed that my object had non-planar polygons (even if all polygons were trippled and 1 or 2 point polys deleted.??). My model had non-planar triangles which I deleted and my model worked...

Just out of curiosity, how does a non-planar triangle look like :)

yes because it seem s that a new kind of geometry has been discovered one in whic 3 points (or 3 crossing line as a tringle) doesn t make a plan

Glad it worked out, Kyriakos. :)
