When the path of an image file or an mxi file (defined in the Maxwell Render plugin) contains one of the above mentioned letters the plugin will drop these letters when you re-open the scene in LightWave. When you hit the render button, Maxwell Render will start but is not able to save the image or the mxi file until you redefine the paths again. So I guess this is a plugin-bug, as LightWave is able to deal with special characters.
