Hi all,
I've read every relevant thread about cooperative Rendering and all about this theme in the pdf-manual which ships with Maxwell. Too bad, I can't get network-rendering to work properly.
My setup:
- Nine identical P4/ht machines. All running mxcl.exe
- one more machine of the same type, running Maxwell Manager.
The network path for temp-files is set.
- my workstation running a remote software for the render nodes and the Manager - and of course Maxwell-Monitor.
I used only unmapped Maxwell shaders for my test-file. Internal network is btw. 1Gbit.
In Monitor I can see, that I am connected, all server nodes are visible. I preselect all of them and add a new job.
In the window poping up, I am asked for the location of the file (also in a network-folder). The job swill submit sucessfully, all machines start rendering and fail, either immediatelly, or after a couple of seconds. One of the machines sometimes tries to link - but as there is nothing to link, it will freeze at this point.
It looks to me, as if Maxwell had problems to find the network path - allthough I can see the folder, I set, from each of the render-nodes.
The mxs file renders perfectly, when started from my workstation.
Happy for every hint.
Holger
