by any chance are u perhaps trying hard making cooperative render work on wour pc?.. it would seem so

just change the format to jpg, i dont know why but maxwell only can save to jpg, at least in max version.

Here is my .mxc that works... Many tests and tries... I did not found it in doc... Maybe adding this short line to doc file will hel to many users... Hpe it helpes...

the output file must be saved in a network path .. are u doing so?
