RLM licensing still not working

No firewall (which is not good) and still only error messages, please see pictures below, taken at each step. Only the host laptop with no nodes up and running. What could I do to get this sorted out once and for all? Thanks!

If this is the same computer that's running also the RLM server, then you need to choose the second licensing option, not the third.
Also, in your first screenshot you can see that the message is Port 5053 is in use, waiting...
This means that you already have something running (perhaps even another RLM server from another software) which is already using this port. So in your license file, change the port nr from 5053 to something else like 5065, then reboot the computer and see if the RLM server is picked up ok.
So:
1. Choose the second licensing option.
2. You will get a .lic file called maxwell_suite_floating.lic which will be in C:\ProgramData\Next Limit\Maxwell\licenses
3. Change in the first line the port from 5053 to 5065 (for example)
4. You will also get a second license file, called maxwell_license.lic. Change the port nr in this one as well to be the same
5. Reboot your computer
6. Start Maxwell (not Studio) and check what errors you get in the Console, or if it's now licensed correctly.

Ok, I followed your steps and Maxwell Render and Maxwell Studio work. I have not tried to see, how all the nodes are connecting yet. I get this permanent window on screen:

Which screen? On the nodes you mean?
If on the nodes, make sure you haven't chosen the second option for these, you need the third for the nodes ("connect to RLM server already running"). And make sure no firewalls on either node or RLM computer are blocking communications.
On the nodes you should ONLY have ONE license file named maxwell_license.lic file, with a single line of text in it.

No nodes connected yet. I get this screen on the laptop that runs the RLM license server.
