Hello,
I might end up with computers with different windows versions.
Would it be possible to network-render using 2 computers, one with Windows-7 64bit and other Windows-XP 64 bit?
regards,
raja

Should be fine. I have a workstation on Win7 and a node on a server running Windows Server 2008 or some such thing. However, I would say that it just adds one more issue to network rendering which seems to be tenuous in Maxwell as is (in my experience).

Hi raja,
I am currently rendering using a similar setup and it works fine. I've got 8 PC's on Windows7 and 2 PC's still on WinXP 32bit.
No problems here whatsoever, even in cooperative mode. Best of luck with the other network issues though...

theoretically you could even mix windows and mac machines, right?
although it did not work for me, but the network render isn't working as expected here.

I have a Mac that's dual booting Mac OS X and Windows 7 64 bit. With either one I'm able to use my Windows XP 32 bit machine as a render node.
