Everything related to Maxwell network rendering systems.

I added another system last week so now I have a whopping 4. Ever since it's been like pulling teeth to get a coop render to work. Everything seems flawless, ie. all nodes show up in the manager, and in the network tab. I assign the job as always and then.........................................nothing happens except a very small randomly sized coop.mxs will show up on each node but the server takes no notice and does absolutley nothing with it. Just blinking, saying server node started.

The mxs files are like 256kb or 1000kb or something and that's it. I'm stumped.

could it be some missing maps? If you do coop rendering make sure you put the appropiate maps in each machine, with identical path, eg. c:/mxwmaps, and all maps in materials pointing to this location. Make sure you always define paths in a way that the servers can look for it, eg. \\mymachine\c\maxwmaps

hope it helps

Thanks Renato,

Yep, I'm on that, I render generally every single day - so I know that stuff - all learned the hard way! I was having this problem the other day and it turned out to be having an HDRI in the background slot - even though the map was present everywhere.

But this problem is different, none of the servers give error messages or react at all. They should be receiving a 25mb mxs file but the filesize is either 0kb or some small number like 250kb.

Anyway, I'll keep trying.

Whenever I do coop rendering, I usually run a separate single render in each machine, with different seed numbers, then i merge the mxi files manually. I guess is the best way for now.
