Which would you say is best to do?

1. Have 5-6 MXIs of the same RT (rendering time) and SL

2. Have one MXI with a big RT and SL (less noisy than choise 1) as a base and 3-4 MXIs with more noise comparing to choise 1

For example :
1. 5-6 MXIs of RT:3h, SL:8
2. 1 MXI of RT:12h, SL:14 and 3-4 MXIs of RT:2h and SL:5

I'm asking this because I usually find my self in the second case where I just finish a rendering and then I need some more cleaning.
