Beta Rendering - artsy fartsy style ;)

While I wait for a worthwhile RC to come out, I've gone back to playing with Beta. This is a heavily photoshoped rendering (the original was too washed out for my liking). Figures done in Poser. The sweaty/dirty look to the skin is actually specularity noise (I started fiddling with the image before it finished rendering  ). I actually like how it came out after the post work. Gives it a much more grundgy look that appeals to my 'artsy' side.

it looks very good, only those big rocks in the middleground look a bit too "rounded".

Thaks rivoli. I agree about the rocks - noticed that myself. I'm doing some 'rock squishing' right now.

I've also got some tileing problems with the ground in the background. I wish we'd get some procedural materials that could be used to break up large areas and eliminate this map "checkerboarding."

Wow, not only does this look close to photoreal, but it is also very original and creative. Fantastic use of Maxwell :)
