It's a lot of noise in the image. For example, look to the right where light enters. The noise in maxwell is very similar to the normal camera noise you get when an image is a bit underexposed. Together with a bit depth of field and textures, the eye buy's it as an natural image. Btw the noise look as natural when it's animated too.

Top image looks great! I think the noise levels are lower because light is also coming from the other side.

You seemed to have many renderings with concrete walls, and saw you have rendered a church of light by Tadao Ando, my favourite architect.
I started my 3dcg carrier inspired by that very architecture, and could not get it to work at all - but now Maxwell is the key to this solution.

I went to the church once, and took several photos, but it was too hard with my digital camera since the camera was so crappy that had no control over exposure/shutter speed etc.

Maybe I should re-try my render for the church of light , to see how Maxwell comes close to the real photo.

These both look fantastic!

What's the difference in the quality of light? Turbidity?

Beautiful spacial work.
