Dead Grass

Wanted to try something different...

Rows of dead grass using shave and a haircut, converted to mesh, rendered using SSS. The ground surface is displaced.

3dsmax
1,058,960 triangles
26 minutes on a Dual 3.06 with 2gb of ram. Reached 10.5 samples.

What method did you use to displace the ground?

I think it is wonderful to see something different .. your ground there looks excellent, and cool idea to use hair for the grass :-)
