The only postwork in these images (if any) is to tweak the contrast/brightness (with the excpetion of [Hand-Scape]). So, to answer your question, the neon lights are pure Maxwell. Just renderable splines with an mxi emmiter material added to them.

Wow, the "iduru", "welcome" and "floating cats" images are excellent !
On the conceptual level, the "garden" of white hands image is my favorite. I simply love this concept. Mihai had a similar image and I liked it as well. I don't know what it is about hands ... anyway...

It was actually unintentional.
This was my first attemp with Maxwell, and I was using one of the initial releases. I just used a pure white diffuse material with physical sky (no sun). Not sure if the same is true with the beta or not.......
