A straight re-render with the original settings and double the res...

Image

Thanks to andronikos for the render here which had the specular changed at Tom's suggestion down: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... t=1600_SSS

I took receipt of a new G5 and needed something to test it out - this is the exact same as the first post: http://www.maxwellrender.com/forum/view ... scattering

I am aware that candles aren't that shiny. I like to think of them as plastic wrapped ;) And now the stats. This was rendered on one single 2.7GHz proc, niced into low priority for (drum roll):

[521h 6m 55s] of [60h 0m 0s] , current sampling level : 22.04 -

Heh heh.

Yes, only the candle light. Each one is a dipyramid (8 sides in total) as the maxwell renders can get a little hairy(er) with complicated emitters. Remind me to tell you about the beautiful poly flames that I generated from Maya fluids... A little too expensive so far.

Thanks for the kind words.

verry long
