I have been tearing people's work up for weeks.. time to offer some of mine to be 'nit picked' YAYYY finally got some REAL work done with Maxwell! I'm so maxwellized!

so go for it everyone.

The top image has some post processing... I had a vision in my mind when I rendered it so decided to finish it by a bit of comping.

The second image is 100% pure Maxwell with only a dash of curves in photoshop (to brighten the mids)

here is the original render for image1:
Image
of course scaled to it's current size.

I'll ABSOLUTELY be re-rendering these once NL figures out the glass problem... uggg... it's like the car had hugely tinted glass. Really annoying.

photoshop contrast adjust only

bit of photoshop contrast, inset work, otherwise straight render.

thanks in advance for the constructo-destructo.

:: nice stuff dude....
love the car paint... are you using a plastic material?::

thanks... yeah, it's plastic.

Plastic Roughness. U.15/V.15
40% grey bitmap (100% being black) - Specularity
50% grey bitmap - Glossyness - glossyness slider set to 4%

This is for Lightwave, I don't know how the settings would be affected in any other program.

Ok, I don't normally track render time except to say... "oh, look 400 hours, and there is still noise... hmmm.. something is wrong"

However,

Image1: overnight... about 11 hours, approx 13 iterations
Image2: quicky... about 4 hours. (sss on the lights is still too high... should be orange and RED)
Image3: quicky... about 3 hours
Image 4: No textures and simple set up. About 4 hours.

Image 5: Overnight... 8 hours reached 16 iterations! Used MXI dome. Image

Image 6: 4.5 hours - 17 iterations - 1200pix tall

thanks everyone... I too am a bit of a mini fanatic. I have owned four of them and have lots of stories about my spectacular mechanical failures... mostly on highways climbing hills. :)

Love the cars, brilliant and super fun to drive.

I've been building that mini model since mid 2002 on and off. I want it to be completely accurate right down to the engine... so it should be finished sometime in 2007. :)

cheers all
