Stuck somewhere?

Stuck somewhere? Why not try Maxwell?
My PC was busy rendering this last night. 10h, lvl 16, and its quite noiseless.
Gel inside has a UV roughness of 0.2, and imho now it looks great, not as dull as it would have been in alpha.
Well, its not yet finished. Im waiting for a properly working clipmap to compleate this one. The label will be transparent, only the text will be visible (and the edges, due to refraction) but for that a clipmap is needed, and now, it renders quite funny. Its a bit hard to read the current label, but this is the best I could come up with.
Hope you like it.

LOOKS GREAT, VERY REALISTIC... JUST A LITTLE BIT OF NOISE.

Thanks!
Kevin, the bubbles inside are simple random spheres, with some noise in their geometry.
Btw, here is how I wanted to do the labels in the first place, with some odd artifacts due to the clipmap. Also, text is much more visible this way:

Really nice image

The lighting and setup are great.
What were the settings for the gel material?

Really nice materials

The lighting could be a bit better, maybe it's just the floor that needs changing.
You didn't have any problems with the dielectrics then? Or did you cut away the inside of the plastic where the gel is?

Kevin: There was a quite big discussion here about how Maxwell handles dielectrics inside dielectrics, especially about the "fluid in container" setup. Take a look at this thread, really useful informations:
Dielectrics Conclusion
Dennis: Yup, Maxwell is there to make any production process run real smooth.
Greg: The gel was a simple dielectric shader, pure white, Nd about 1.33, and a bit roughness (0.15) to make it appear more gel like.
Mihai: What do you think, how can I improve the lighting? A darker background maybe, to separate the subject more?
I've modelled the whole thing according to Thomas's method, and with all the dielectrics at the same abbe, the image rendered perfectly. Man, I was really happy to see the colored dots go disappear.

It looks perfect to me

Yes, either darker (a dark blue maybe) or really lighter, to make it look "clinical". To me it's too much grey now. But once again, great work on the materials, and nice detail on the model. Hopefully we'll have good clipmaps soon...

I've tried with a lighter (almost white) and a dark blue backround. I think the lighter one looks better, this subject is too transparent so it depends strongly on the background color.
