I agree with Rusteberg the aerial view is REALLY hard to tell whats 3d and what's not! And the photo match is dead on!

These are really nice, just I think you need better quality plants.

Just a suggestion but you might want to filter the images you put in the gallery and keep your best ones, there are a bit too many and the good ones get buried.

Thanks,

I have some really old stuff in the gallery. I posted everything in chronological order. I started working for my self in 2006. So the newer stuff is upfront and the old at the end. I will filter out some of it. I noticed I have a duplicate image as well. Since I live Arizona, most of my renderings are Sonoran desert vernacular. Lots of scrubbies and cacti.

Hi all,

I added a new rendering. It is a Harley Davidson interior.

Fantastic new images! Looks as if you fixed the tree issue because I cant tell whats real and whats 3D! You should do a tutorial on your process of matching aerial photos to your 3d model. Great Job!

Thanks gadzooks,

It is strange with photo-matching. Sometimes it is really fast, like five moves of the camera. Then sometimes it might take an hour of tweaking. Using Blender makes it very painless compared as to when I used to use Form-Z.

One big key is having the correct focal length the camera was set at to take the shot and having the camera sensor width and height. Most of the cameras used to do the aerials are full frame.

If I have GPS coordinates of each shot, the matching process can go very fast. Some cameras have built-in GPS capabilities.

Since you live in Arizona and it is a bit of a harsh environment I would suggest staging your scenes for dawn or dusk in order to soften the images. On my Maxwell scenes I usually use a sun value of 0.1 and a sky value of 2.3 with a warmer temperature (4300K) to simulate dusk. Just my two cents worth.
