This is a "Making of" our latest short film, Lie & Holst.

The short film will go the festival route before being released to the web, but we hope you will enjoy
watching some of the work that we did for this personal piece of fiction.

Animated in Maya, rendered in Cinema 4D with Maxwell.

Thanks also for your interest in our Lie & Holst wip thread.

Amazing! Excellent breakdown and sexy editing!

Do you blend AO passes into the final comp or just use them for pre-visualization?

Thanks Matthew,

I tend to multiply the ao pass when I want some more "contrast" in the characters. But I try to use it lightly, and I also mask off unwanted areas. But it adds some depth, and gives you a nice visible constrast between close surfaces.

Best,
Tor Martin

Really good job! You could have more powerful speculars in the final render though. They've arrived very subtle comparing to the painted detail.

Amazing work on the short, you should be really proud. Absolutely love the production work done on this making of, too.

We are quite happy with what we manage to do on our spare time. And working with Maxwell is such a joy.
