Glowing object INSIDE frosted glass!

Oh this is too cool.

One of my experiments I thot people might actually want experiment with themselves!

Though, I must say, I'd like a material with the consistency of soap.. which is somewhere between glass and plastic. I cant seem to get the soap look with either plastic or glass. (for this glow on the inside experiment)

The skinny:
the word "glow" as an object with a custom emitter... set to about 60% lum in LW. place inside a glass bar.
The glass bar has .8 in the UV
Obviously I changed the scattering value in both the glass material and in the render settings. I dialed up scattering and left the other one alone.

That's cool. Almost reminds me of neon tubes. Probably woudn't be too much of a stretch to get that effect.

Yeah... thinking about it perhaps "goodies" or "off topic" would have been better. sorry.

As for the time. That's about a 25 minute render... so not as bad as I expected for sure! I could see actually using the effect for something real.

so to speak.
