Very nice.

The cars sit well in the plate.
How are you setting up your floor for catching the shadow?

cheers,

Steve

I add a generic ground plane which has the shadow channel turned on and which is "unseen by camera".
In render parameters i turn on on the shadow option and alpha option.
Maxwell delivers this two renderings:

compositing in photoshop
shadow in "multiply" by adding a light bluish dominance.

cool, cheers for the info and separate passes.

A couple more questions.

As the floor is not visible in camera (and shadows are rendered as a pass), does this mean the shadows on the floor do not get reflected back in to the car body?

And on your shadow pass, you can see the texture from the ground.
Is this texture from the backplate, the generic floor or the HDR???

Hope this makes sense - I'm in the process of creating a car shot and looking for the best solution.

Thanks again.

Cheers,

Steve

This is great, Daros!
But there is one obvious thing that "gives away" your render - there're no Fiat Bravo's in US

Check https://www.moofe.com/#/free

There are six free fantasic HDRs and backplates. One of them is used by daros in his rendering above. There is as well a good pdf information included in the free download, here the quite common technic to arrange own models in a perspective correct view is explained ...

Best,
Tom

Very nice! But, I must admit I can see the gap between cars and knocked out shadows.

hi Tom, do you say the thin bright line on the bottom of the central car?

No, it's not something particular. Simply all of them has the same issue because the shadow pass is knocked out.
