Very nice 8)

I think the artifact relates to the shutter. Try using circualr instead of polygonal shutter.

One comment: The spheres should be suspended from two rails.

Nice renderings with some nice shiny metal balls.. :)
And yep, the artifact is due to polygonal diaphragm or whatever it's called. u can almost spot the angle of your polygonal blades there by looking at the faint "line" visible above the frame heh..

This ought to be like you say, but currently, there is a bug with polygonal diaph that makes it unusable.

ok guys, thank you very much for the suggestions; I'll try to fix the camera diaphram to redcue DOF, even if I think that the small is still to small...

Thomas, yes, you're right, and in fact the true model has actually two strings for each ball, but I'd like to reproduce this: Image

yep, smooth, Octavarium is magnificient! 8)
I didn't like latest DT albums very much, just because they go "too far beyond", but with this release, even if it's more modern than ever, I can smell the old prog style which make them so unique in the first albums.
eheh my nickname is not a random choice!

PS: this is a great forum with great people inside

PS2: anyone coming to June 21st DT concert in Italy?
