congratulations wolfkiller and the team!
i mostly like the opening scene, the desert...
IMHO this video should be encoded in divx because it makes a lot of frame drops.

Or encode it with h264, when it's going to be available for Win, and affordable....just look at this page and be amazed:

http://www.shapeofdays.com/h264/

edit: actually it's a bit early to encode it with h264, you need a pretty fast comp to decode it with reasonable frame rate. So Xvid is the best you can use atm for a wide audience.

Yeah, animations were nice, but either there were lots of dropped frames or framerate too low...why use bink?

James,
How many frames per second was this rendered at?

Don't get me wrong, I really like what you've done, it's just that the playback wasen't as smooth as I had anticipated. I wanted to know if that was because you used a lower frame per second rate or if it was my computer.

Nice work WolfKiller and team :D I agree with Maxer tho - playback was a little choppy.

Still great work!

I think the quality is great, but for me the choppy playback was a little distracting. All in all I think you did a great job, can't wait to see what improvements the beta will bring!

wolfkiller, first of all it's interlaced and it would be better if you can encode it progressive. mpeg4 genre (divx, xvid etc) can handle even more than 720 x 576 frames at 25 fps very smooth due to their low bitrate lack. as a container wmv9 is the most compatible for the audience i think...so can you give it a try encoding it mpeg4?

oh well, saving the already compressed video in a difeerent format wouldn't be a professional solution. it should be derived from the original uncompressed avi.

;) thx wolf... don't forget to make it progressive and 25 fps also... i think other will agree this also.

Xvid is better :)
When you're finished recoding it I can mirror it on my server as well.

Mihai is right, XVID is one of the best MPEG4 encoders around. I like it too.

It would be a lot nicer and faster for everyone, if you used BitTorrent for the big files...
