Finally haveing some luck with the Hair Fur plugin for max 7.5. In this scene, I'm only using hair on the visible regions, using approx 15,000 hairs - Plastic shader as material.

Hi Michael, is this render a dude or a duda??? i'm gonna have nightmares tonight.
But great render, one of the best human overall renders in the forum.
The elbow looks like it broken long time ago.

Yup, its Poser. Imported into max using Reiss bodystudio. (the backdrop is a complete city neighborhood.. that's what you're seeing behind the walls in the wireframe below).

I can't take credit for any of the textures or objects in practically all of my images. The skin for the Poser figure was done by Renderosity merchant ExprssnImg, and the background building done by DAZ merchant Stonemason.
I'm really nothing more than a 3D hobbyist. Because I have a full time job (not anywhere related to 3D graphics, or even computers for that matter), I don't have much time to do my own modelling, or texturing. I think of myself more as a "virtual photographer" than a 3D artist like most of y'all. I set up a scene and take a snap shot.
I'm very envious of you folks that can do this stuff for a living. It's really been a long-time of dream of mine. Rignt now, I have to limit myself with the satifisfaction of being a sort of 3D patron. I can't tell you how much I've spent on the various programs, objects, and textures that I've bought over the years. You are the folkswho keep me going!
You guys out there doing this for a living are the true 3D artists! I'm just glad to have the chance to "rub elbows" - even if it's just on-line - with folks like you.
Anyway, it's really late/early, and I'm drunk on sleep deprivation. Have a good night/morning everyone!

Oo.. i like Poser stuff alot

no matter how it's done and rendered and used. That girl is pretty! and so is the rendering too

nice work on it. But isn't it quite a small hell to remap imported Poser figures ? those tests i've done are those i gave up on since there's just too much work doing it manually and fitting the maps all together nicely.
Btw, you seem to have a slight mapping error at her fingertips..
