I fianlly purchased my maxwell renderer and started toying with my previous renders and converted them to maxwell.
Here's my first exterior.
There are some problems with the mesh at the rear.

C&C please.

rendered in 6 hours, sampling level 14 at 2000x1200 resolution.

very good stuff, only thing that bothers me are those branches in the foreground. even though they look well placed in terms of composition, they are a bit too poligonal (leaves as well).

i agree with the foreground branches since they are from max aec foliage objects. too polygonal.might as well change it to an xfrog model or a clipmap.

thanks1

wonderful render.

I love the camera angle it creates a lot of visual interest. A dynamic camera angle but overall a very tranquil shot.

Great work, keep postying "test" (although I wouldn't class this as a test, I'd say it was finished!)

John,

This is very nice, I really like the attention to the environment. The glass reads well and the interior light that we see through the front door glazing is very subtle and realistic!

The modeling is also impressive. How did you apply the vegetation? Is it physically modeled? The plans add a nice natural feel to the image!

thanks tyrone. the plants in the foreground are aec objects, palms and bushes are xfrog objects. the grass was created by adding a displace modifier in the ground plane with a grass bitmap. since displacement fo maxwell has not been supported yet, the displace modifier was used on the modeling.

Very nice. It just needs a more detailed front door and something behind the windows next to the door. :D

Very nice! The only thing that could be improved is the clip map for the palms. YOu may try to increase their value to trim out some of the grey you see around the edges. You could also modify the image map and replace the white areas with a matching green. Maxwell's clip mapping doesn't work very well at this stage, but hopefully the Beta version will have true transparency map compatibility.

Otherwise, a great rendering! Welcome to Maxworld!
