BAMBO: The Avenger

This is an editorial-style 3D illustration portfolio piece I just finished. The final render is a composite of a Maxwell render, a Maya software render for the fog spot light and a pass for the fur, using the plug-in Shave and a Haircut for Maya. The palm trees were brutally slow to render even on my new Nehalem Mac Pro (apparently decal leaves with masked weight/transmittance is a lot slower than just a closed poly object with no transparency). Feedback and criticism welcome.

The very first thing I've noticed when looking at the image were lowpoly letters, especially the second "B"

good point - I got lazy with the retouching. I'll clean that up in Photoshop.

It reminds me of that poor goat in jurassic park, only this one is ready to make a t-rex sandwich :lol:

Nice rendering. Personally I think the sky and the clouds look a bit distracting.

I think they are explosions in a night sky.

if they are explotions in a night sky.... how come they are lit from above??
