Salmon Fly

2 hours of rendering
level 12
wanted to make a salmon fly because iam a fanatic i fishing
Used maya hair and converted it to polygons ...many of them
This is my own creation of a favorite fly
Hope you like it
(iam going to update it soon)
Took me about 2 hours to make it .

Looks very nice!
A couple of questions:
1) Just how many polys?
2) What shader for the hairs?

To Axe: 770 000 polygons and the difuse shader for the hairs
To Whiskey: Well i was using paint-fx hair but broken in to strips ?

Good work on it! the fly looks quite realistic
seems there are a few people here who like to fish, i'm one of those too. Best in my area is north Norway in the fjords or the Swedish mountainlakes

Thanks ! Well i love the swedish rivers (indalsälven) and also the smaller lakes
