Great work! Although, we'd prefer the images directly placed here.

Sorry!

But you gotta give it to him: he really pushes SketchUp beyond it's limits.

If I may analyze with a small multiple choice type poll. ..... lol..

One: he's only ever used Sketchup and unknowingly is tortruting himself by not using another more suitable app.

Two: he's great modeler in other packages, but is still determined to use SU, ...which would make him a self-torturing masochist ( of sorts ).

Three: He just likes pain.

Four: Actually, ... SU is great for high-poly type models, but he's the only one who's ever discovered it's ability within the entire SU community.

Five: he's driven by curiosity. "Hmm ... can this be done?"

It reminds me of a 3D modeler called Organica (http://www.thing-z.com/home2/film&ani/d ... nica-1.htm) from a hundred years ago. I gave it to my son when he was 12. Not knowing any better (NOT saying this guy using SU didn't know better) he would do things with it that you would just scratch your head and say "how the hell did you do that?" Just shows it's not always the tools but the guy (or gal) behind them...

Actually Mike, .. I believe it's almost always the 'guy/gal' and not the tool.

The work is a great demonstration of what happens when you apply great intent versus simply a weak attempt with great resources. A superb effort...

if you look in the post--he's not using "vanilla" SU, he's got more than a few plugins that are enabling this kind of modeling. It's SU trying to be another polymodeler…
