Funny, right now I'm working on redoing the material for the roof tiles (so I don't have to re touch it so much in photoshop)

This is a pic showing the redering out of maxwell (no-photoshop)

I agree, the roof seems to have no thickness.

Such a big improvement! I like the discoloration at the bottom of the stucco walls, even if it is just a photoshop trick...

Indeed, quite the leap forward. Very nice. Wish I had those PS skills! :D

guys... tomorrow, I'll be posting the new improved roof

I wouldn't call it a photoshop trick  Photoshop is a tool just like maxwell.

I used to think I needed to do "everything" before I hit render, including custom multilayer textures showing the extra details.... But why? :P

he he cool Leo, but the weather is very corrosive in your area (Tchernobyl..?).. the walls look like they are falling apart.. hehe :D 8)

Hi Leonardo, what software are using for landscape like trees and other, there are looking real..and the images are looking very good.

To give thickness to the tiles you can move down the displacement map so the end of the roof is coincident with a change of tile in the map. On the sides just take care it always ends with a full tile.

The color could be a bit more desaturated.

Nice work, I agree with Hervé, I think you should work more on the wall material, it looks a bit wet, also work a bit on the age and the proportion of the coconut trees, correct me if I'm wrong :)

you have no idea how much damage the weather can do to a building in less than a year here in Miami... the humidity + rain are unreal :D I have been paying attention to those things and trying to replicated (+/-)

I use Vue, xfrog, and Ivy (in this particular render, there no xfrog trees)

I'm not showing any coconut trees  Those suppose to be Alexandra palms. You see, we have many type of palm trees over here... just to give you an idea:
Alexandra Palms (we usually use them in clusters)
Canary Island Date Palms
Veitchia Palms,
Phenix Roebeleni (also clusters)
Raphis Exelsa (aka Lady palms... this ones we use them as shurbs)
I think the one that you were referring was our Cocos Nucifera (aka Greeb Malayan coconut tree)

There are plenty more like the fish tail, and fan something... but we don't us those in our landscape

we need the rendering to get a loan from the bank.... I don't know if a cracked tile is what the bank is looking for, but it would sure make it more realistic :D

here is a test of my new material

I'm pretty happy with it. It's simple, fast to use, and gives decent results :D
