Video Wastelands...

Hello, this is a scene Im working on, but I just can´t get the caustics properly

my settings are:
sampling level 50
bounces 15
physical sky
Madrid d-15 m-6 y-2005 hour 14
Caustics layers, all on
Camara f stpo 8.0 shuter 200
diaphragm circular blades 6 b. angle 30
scale 0.01
Hope someone can give me a solution to make the caustics appear. Thanks.

How big is the plane compared to the cameras? If the plane is huge, but you're only interested in a small part of it, caustics will take a long time to appear. It's probably an optimisation issue with Maxwell, so try and make the plane as small as you can.

Thanks, Mihai, I have a small plane with the cameras, and a large one in the background, I have tried many settings , but still no caustics in the small one. I will take a loo at that post. Thanks

O.k I think this is it. No caustics yet after 12 hour of render, but I´m happy with it now, and it stays this way

I get a very 80s feeling about this image, not sure why
You are getting caustics, if you look below the far camera, there are plenty of caustics there although it's difficult to distinguish them from the redish sand texture. Nice sand btw....

The images have a nice early Star Wars look to them. Adam is right about moving the sun (or move the camera) so the sun is behind the camera.

yeah, it gives me a nice hot feeling too, seems like you raised turbidity, didnt you ?...nice dof too on the last one
