Hi Val ....

Big yellow incandescent cast .....

Sorry for doing this ... and I think I've actually done another render of yours if I remember ......

I tend to really de-saturate colors when adjusting, .. it just looks more photographic to me. But that's just me ....

Nice render.

Hard choice, yes the first one is yellow, at the same time it gives a warm feeling to the image that actually works pretty well with the style of the room/furnitures ect.

I dont know if the more correct/desaturated one is better, feels kind of dead.
I would go for the first one, but perhaps to a mix of them both, use the warm tone, but let the floor be more cold, as marble is.

Perhaps something like this:

Sorry for playing around with your image, but You've put alot of effort into it, you should add some more to nail it.

the wall colors are really that color (an ochre) the floor is what they wanted. it's a hand worked cement with a set of colors that they were very particular about. I must have re worked that texture half a dozen times getting the colors just so. the lighting was chosen for the warmth. The whole palate was a yellow.

Having said all that I do have a tendency to like the yellow tones washing things over a hard white light.

To each their own

thanks for the comments. they always make me ponder what I have done.

Hi Val,

First off, very nice scene. You've done an excellent job on the modeling/texturing details, and I think your basic lighting setup is also good...

...but I also have to comment that the final image is coming out very, very unnaturally yellow on my end as well. In fact, it's so yellow graded that it kind of makes me wonder if your monitor colors might be off (might be something to investigate).

However, I certainly understand that it might just be your personal taste as well.

That said, IMHO, it's kind of a shame as I believe your image has a lot more potential when finished with a more natural color grading.

P.S. If it helps any, I personally use a Gretag Macbeth "Eye-One Display 2" color correction tool which works very well (think it's still only like $250... and probably even cheaper on ebay)

Yea, that last image looks like a photo. The original, doesn't.

Either way it's a great render and the materials are very nice. Good work.
