first interior image

Thought I would try and do an interior design image. Most of the my images are product shots, this one was done just to create a simple interior scene. A photographic reference was used to recreate the scene. Some areas like the flowers have SSS and need more time to clear up.

Jealous  :!:

I would try to tweak lighting a bit, not too much, just a little....

The glass is awesome, don't use SSS for the flowers, nobody notices that

Leo, come to think of it I have actually never done an exterior either :) Didn't mean to imply that I am new to this just that most of my renders were focused in showcasing either a product or an animation and the surroundings were secondary.

The objects behind the glass are there only to create a certain mood of uncertainty and curiosity. If you really want to know, it is the same bench that you see in the corner of the first room, both lined up against the far end and also leaning against the wall. There is also a thrash can on the other side of the door.

pendi, I just used the wizard to create the glass and added some roughness to it. A bump map that is a basic gradient image to create the ripple glass look. Here is the settings for the effect, hope it helps.

JTB, I rendered it with multilight turned on, so I do have different versions that are better lit. I posted this one since I liked it the best, probably not what I woud show a client.
You are right about the importance ( or lack ) of SSS in this scene, its something thats been bugging me for a while now. I mean getting SSS to work that way I want. Recently did a porcelain Christmas tree that was lit from within and I could never get SSS to give me warm glow from within. If you have any thoughts on this I am listening. Thanks

I am currently rendering a modo version of the scene and will post the results when done. Thanks once again for the feedback.

I remember your glass peace next to the sink, infact I think I bought maxwell just after.

I cant wait to see your modo comparison
