Oticon Delta - multilight animation

A multilight animation made for fun using a model provided by the danish hearing aid company Oticon (to show them the possiblities with different lighting and multilight with Maxwell). Initial render was made with 3ds Max 8 and Maxwell Render v1.1 and the animation was then key'ed using Emixer. Soundtrack was added using Adobe Premiere Pro (the music is part of "Recess" from "Ambient office" by El Gran Lapofsky). All done in one evening and the music is not matching the animation perfectly all the way .. but it gave a good impression
The movie is compressed hard with DivX, and I noticed some unwanted banding effect etc. but it still impresses me how effecient DivX is in compressing video (in this case from 144 Mb down to 5,4 Mb

)
Download the movie here:

Hope you like it

Strange .. I just downloaded it to test and it plays fine here. I am using DivX version 6 (also for the encoding as far as I remember) are you using version 6?

hey !! nice music and light ambiance furthermore with this strange subject!
It's a shame the gradients are blocky like this, is this from maxwell or compression?

Pretty cool animation Lars, it's a nice way of displaying your model in various sorts of lightsetups. As tokiop said it's a shame you got such visible colorbanding in your gradients (looks like it'd due to compression), perhaps try using either .H264 encoding or Bink encoding for such a sequence to get it nice'n'smooth.

Btw, very well modeled thingy. What did you model it with ?

Thanks tokiop. He he .. yes this was not part of the assignment but something I made to show some possiblilites. Yes you are right the blocky gradients / color banding is due to the hard compression. Will see if I can convert to another format.

Thank you very much Max. You are rigtht the colorbanding came after I compiled the video and convertet it to DivX.
Ahh.. those encodings sounds like someting to try out. I will have a look at that link. Thank you very much.
Oh, the model is made by Oticon designers in their CAD software (I mentioned this in my "Oticon Delta" posting here in the gallery but forgot to say it here. Thanks for reminding me I will make a note here also)
EDIT: Oh, I did mention it above already that the model was provided by Oticion

Now I will try to see if I can convert this animation using the RadGameTools mentioned.
