How did you make that grass in the exterior shot?
1) build grass plane in nurbs
2) add maya fur preset grass and tweak the parameters until a satisfied picture is reached. then render the beauty pass (color with shadows) and the alpha pass.
3) in photoshop, tweak the colors again (curves, contrast, ...) to mimic the best color representing the desired «feeling» in the architectural context.
4) the grass is not rendered in maxwell, so sorry.

You mean the strongly visible polygonal revolving path to create the mushroom?
this is totally desired and shows also the strict way that the construction of the form would be achieved. so these parts would be 30 cm in width and follow a paraboloid curve towards the outer end with the windows which is especially good with these «mushroom» constructions. of course, the angle between the boards gets smaller and thus is less appearing in the outer zone.
