My first V1 Render ( mediterraean house)

This is my first maxwell v1.0 render. I want to thanks to all of you that have helped me in the process. Your comments and critic are welcome. I would like to improve the quality of this image.

A few tips:

- Reduce the materials' saturation and experiment some more with the roughness parameter.
- Make sure the light emission fits the background/sky color.

(always resample when you resize an image).

So keep on tweaking and i'm sure you'll get a great result out of that scene. :)

1. Go the the Reflectance tab in the material editor

2. Either drag the white circle in the color picker towards the grey zone,
wich might lie in any direction depening on the hue you have selected,
or adjust the saturation directly by using the "S" field (255 = fully saturated).

Both too high brightness and saturation of the reflectance channel can have undesired effects on the render result, so use them with caution and stay below an RGB average of 220. Hope that helps.

Is that also applicable for mapping textures? or just for color materials?

It's a nicely composed scene.

One thing that caught my eye was the apparent lack of detail in the windows. Presumably, those glazing bars are internal to double-glazing?

The car seems to have a higher level of detail than other objects in the scene, such as the light-posts etc.

You would have to desaturate the texture map before importing into Studio i'm afraid, just make sure you backup the original :wink:

Hi,

It is a very nicely composed scene, I like the detail of the figure stood on the first level.... I think the car is the most realistic part of the scene, due to the amount of glossiness on it. The reflections help it to relate to the other elements.

Perhaps to improve it, some more glossiness in the other areas would help... I think grass is usually quite glossy and even adding it to your walls would help tie the whole scene together.

I am curious that you don't seem to be using the AGS for your windows, is that the case? It looks like purely reflective material?
Perhaps it would help the realism if you could see some of the room behind the window where appropriate?

Hi, mark thanks for your comments but I did use the ASG material however I coudn't throught the glass. Maybe somebody can tell me why.
