I let this run over night for 14 hours, got to a sample level of 19. It probably needs a few more hours to clear out the noise.
My machine is a dual Opteron 248.

as far as I'm aware bot CPU's are working durring rendering, is there a setting in Maxwell that deals with the CPU usage?

hi maxer.. depending on the scene of course i mostly get comparable results in terms of noise with my dual opteron 246 - but in 3-4.. maybe 5 hours. whats wrong?!
have you checked that you use "-th:0" for autodetecting number of threads?
nevertheless i like the image. good work!

I've actually got my number of threads set to 4, not quite sure why. Do you think this will affect the performance?

you must set thread of 4 if you are hyperthreading
and 2 if you haven't hypertheadibg
i think you have use only 1/4 of you power

No way
I'll re-render tonight and see if there is a difference.

So do you think 14 hrs is a long time to get an image with that much noise in it?

Hi maxer !
very nice reality scene..
i have a qeustion.
what is your scene scale? what i says just about mm, inch, cm..etc..
and another is a about emitter.
what did you use emitter's illuminant type as sun?
and can i know color and unit?
thx!

The scene was modeled in Feet w/Decimal Inches and Maxwell is set to a scene scale of 0.01 which I assume is correct. I used the Physical Sky for most of the illumination and the 4 lamps in the room had an emitter inside them which was a Type B set to an intensity of 10W.
I have a question about the incremental process, is this process going to be improved on or speed up in any way? This image was only 800x600 and it took 14 hrs to get to this point. Is it reasonable to assume that once Maxwell is finished with development an image of say 5100x6100 could be completed in 14 hrs or less?

If you're modeling in feet, than the default 0.01 is not correct. Look right below that box, it reads now: 100 Max units equals 1 Maxwell meter. Meaning 100 feet = 1 meter. That's not correct is it? 1 foot is about 0.3 meters. So you have to enter 0.3 in that box.

How does the scale affect the rendered image?

It's very important because as light travels through space it looses strength.

Ok, I'll adjust it and post a new one. Would increasing my sample value reduce the amount of noise withing the same time of 14 hours?

Sample level setting is a quality setting so you can tell Maxwell: Stop when you reach this level of quality. It doesn't affect rendertime. If your image took 10 hours to reach 18 samples and you had it set to 25, it will look the same and take as much time as if you had set the limit to 100.
