I was having fun playing with the loft command in Rhinoceros, and I made the little dish.

Last night I went and had sushi, came home, and decided to make "Random Model 2783" into an elegent sushi dish.

Thanks, I was pleased with how something so simple came out very nice.

I spent forever trying to get the soy sauce right, and I never was able to get what I wanted... :?

By the way Olivier, is that your cat? And if so, does it have a melon on its head?

Looks good. Soy sauce needs some reflection. Try using a plastic shader with a very low specular and a tad of roughness to blur the reflection of the chopsticks. I love sushi. This makes me want to go out and get some. I wish it didn't cost so much money otherwise I would eat it every day.

That is exactly what I did, but I adjusted the color and contrast a little bit in photoshop, and the reflections went away. I didn't notice until after I posted the thread. I'll fix it soon.

A new sushi place just opened up about two minutes away from where I live. It is amazing, but you are lucky to get out of there without spending over $25 per person.

I think it is funny, because the name of the place is "Okane," which in Japanese means "money."

Everything I would say about the rendering has already been said, but just wanted to put my two cents in that it is a great use of DOF. Congrats.

Yikes... I have seen a few posts lately with pictures of food.

I am doing all I can to prevent myself from eating my screen. :P

It is definately time for dinner.
