Hey Ric!

I like very much the illumination in this scene. It's really a nice job! Do you have the squema of the final illumnation setup?

ahh ok, let me see

- Sky Dome - 33 intensity (sky blue colour)

- A sphere far away from the room in the sky with an emitter material set to 500,000 Intensity (in Maya, i think Max has different types of units)

- 19 Bounces

- Fstop set to 3, other camera settings = default

The Nintendo is beautiful. That's a great image regardless of it being CG; would have been equally cool if you'd shot it on film. Great lighting composition.

Nice one.

Thanks All!

Simple scene setup - 2 emitters, one with 500 intensity, one with 5000 (sorry cant remember which one was which, rendered on old alpha which i temporarily installed and have now replaced for new one)

Image

the emitters had to be carefully placed, too much to the left and the GB would be all black with no spec and too much to the right and all bleached out, took a while placing them :)
